 OPS 30, Ben Lippen 27

Ryan Salley kicked a 20-yard field goal with 10 seconds left to lift Orangeburg Prep past Ben Lippen and to the Region 2-AAA title.

Thomas Plumb led the way on offense for the Indians, completing 18 of 26 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for 96 yards on 22 carries.

His primary target was wide receiver Michael Williamson who hauled in eight receptions for 190 yards and four touchdowns. A.J. Andrews had four receptions for 61 yards.

OPS (6-4, 4-1) will host a playoff game Friday.

Calhoun County 53, Cross 0

ST. MATTHEWS — The Saints locked up a one seed in the Class A playoffs by dismantling Cross Friday night.

Saints quarterback David Sims led the way, rushing for 100 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries and going 11 of 14 passing for 175 yards and two touchdowns in just three quarters of play. Brandon Thomas had two carries for the Saints for 29 yards and a touchdown, and had two receptions for 63 yards and a touchdown; Kevin Thomas had two catches for 48 yards and a touchdown, Donte Stewart had 53 rushing yards and two catches for 43 yards.

Calhoun County will host a playoff game Friday.

Woodland 42, Ashley Ridge 0

BYRDS — Robert Smith went off, as he sometimes tends to do, and Woodland captured the Region 6-AA title.

Smith, Woodland’s super-sophomore quarterback, was 16 of 29 passing for 332 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for another 73 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

His favorite target on the night was Dondrell Folk, who ended up with five catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns. North-South All-Star Marquise Carson, tailback Nagui Wright and receiver DeKendall Carn all added a touchdown for the Wolverines (7-3, 4-1) who will host a playoff game Friday.

Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 26, C.A. Johnson 0

NEESES — Trojans fans ... party like it’s 2002.

H-K-T (5-5, 5-2) got two touchdowns from D’twane Fulmer, a touchdown from Kiwan Gleaton and a defensive score on a fumble recovery by Jamarcus James to defeat C.A. Johnson and complete their best in-region finish since 2002.

The Trojans will play in the Class A playoffs Friday.

Thomas Sumter 34, Calhoun Academy 13

DALZELL -- Thomas Sumter walked away from Friday night’s game with the Region 2-AA title.

Calhoun Academy led 13-9 at the half thanks to a first quarter, 41-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Andrew Robinson to Caleb Chappell and a 42-yard, second quarter pass from Robinson to Trez Wienges. Jake King added the extra point for the Cavaliers on Chappell’s pass.

Thomas Sumter took a 15-13 win at the end of the third, and added two late, fourth quarter touchdowns.

Robinson was 8 of 22 passing for 169 yards and two touchdowns; Wienges had five catches for 72 yards and Chappell had two catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Calhoun (7-3, 4-1) will host St. Andrews Friday in the SCISA playoffs.

Allendale-Fairfax 28, Estill 14

ALLENDALE -- Allendale-Fairfax defeated Estill 28-14 in their final game of the regular season on Friday night.

A-F was led by Bashaud Breeland with 13 carries for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Jerrell Priester added 13 carries for 106 yards; Emmanuel Ochotuckpo had six carries for 46 yards and a touchdown and Darius Priester had four carries for 14 yards and a touchdown.

A-F (7-3, 4-1) will play in the first round of the Lower State playoffs next Friday.

Dorchester Academy 28, Florence Christian 17

ST. GEORGE -- Dorechester Academy improved to 4-6 overall and 2-3 overall.

Trevor Davis led the way with 15 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned an interception for a touchdown. Thomas McAlhany rushed for 71 yards on seven carries for the Raiders. He also had a 15-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Bair.

Defensively, Michael Gruber led the way with seven tackles and eight assists and Etahn Bair had five tackles and five assists.

Bethune-Bowman 42, Branchville 13

ROWESVILLE -- Craig Jones rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries to led Bethune-Bowman.

Danny Berry chipped in with 164 rushing yards on a touchdown on 19 carries. He also had seven tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery. Josh Matthews added eight tackles for the Mohawks; Daquan Berry had six tackles and Dennis Perry had six tackles, four for loss.

Bethune-Bowman closes its season with a record of 2-8 overall and 1-5 in region play. Branchville falls to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in region play.

Jefferson Davis 44, Faith Christian 28

BLACKVILLE -- Nic Jamison rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns and Brant Bonnette added 122 yards and three touchdowns to lead JDA.

On defense, Bonnette had 13 tackles and Alex Still had 11. JDA improves to 5-5 with the win.

HHA 30, Palmetto Christian 27

HOLLY HILL -- The Raiders earned a first round playoff trip to Dillon Christian next Friday with the win.

Nick Martin led the way, rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. He also caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Zack Brownlee.

Brownlee, who was 6 of 17 passing for 153 yards, also had a 14-yard touchdown pass to Tyler James in the fourth quarter.

Martin finished with 10 tackles.

HHA improved to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in region play.

Edisto 7, Ridgeland 6

RIDGLEAND -- Edisto closed the regular season Friday night on a positive note, edging Ridgeland 7-6 in the last 2 minutes.

With 2 minutes left, Edisto’s Kamrie Connell scored for the Cougars on a 1-yard run and Corey Pitts added the PAT to give Edisto the lead for the only time in the game.

Then, with no time left on the clock, Chris Goodwin blocked a Ridgeland field goal attempt to preserve the win.

Edisto, finishing at 6-4 overall and 3-2 in Region 5-AA, is on the road next week to take on Bishop England in the first round of the playoffs.

Leading the Cougars defensively were Lawrence Buck with 9 tackles, Randall Black with 8 and Derek Jenkins with 7.

As a team, Edisto tallied 28 rushing attempts for 139 yards.
