Mary J. Blige will headline South Carolina State University’s Lowcountry Classic III “Scholarship Benefit Concert,” the university announced.

Since her 1992 debut, Blige has earned six Grammy awards and seven multi-platinum albums. She has helped redefine R&B and, more importantly, been an artist that uses her gift to lift spirits, touch lives and bring her heart, soul and truth to those who are willing to listen.

The “Scholarship Benefit Concert” will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tickets for the event go on sale 10 a.m. today through the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office or TicketMaster at www.ticketmaster.com.

The “Scholarship Benefit Concert,” is part of S.C. State’s Lowcountry Classic III weekend, Sept. 12-13, in Charleston. The S.C. State Bulldogs will take on the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.
