Leroy Smith

Funeral services for Leroy Smith, 61, of 136 Bamberg Village Apartments, Bamberg, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, in the Johnson-Dash Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Montgomery and the Rev. D. McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the Bamberg County Memory Gardens.

Mr. Smith died Thursday, July 17.

He was born August 26, 1946, a son of the late Winchester and Lila Milligan Smith. He was educated in the public schools of Blackville. He was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for more than 35 years. Leroy was united in holy matrimony to Artha M. English Smith. This union was blessed with four bea.jpgul and loving children.

Survivors include his wife, Artha M. English Smith; two sons, Leroy (Sherri) Smith Jr. and Shawntel Smith; two daughters, Sherry (Timothy) Thompson and Carolyn Smith; three brothers, Miller (Irma) Smith, Winchester Smith and James (Malinda) Smith; two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson-Dash Funeral Home of Bamberg.
